What do you think my chances of running my p3500e at 133 bus speed ie 666 ;o) is? Nobody will help me make a softfsb plug for my board (intel ca810, ew I know) so I'm going to tap the hardware fs1 pin off the clock chip and force it to 133. The fsb will run 133, mem 100, vid 133 (onboard) pci 33. Just like the doctor ordered. It's all up to the processor. Whadya think? It runs stone cold at 500, and I accidetnaly found out it runs rock solid for days at a time without a fan, so I don't think it should be much of a problem. If I can get that done, and finish the softfsb plug, then I'll be cooking with fire... 150fsb?

Argh! So close but yet so far! I think I got my soft fsb plug for the ca810e to read the speed properly, but it still dies when writing. hmm, try try again.

hey rick
whaat hsf do u use
and what temp does it read so high
i got a similar setup (p3v4x +550)
and it hits so high but with 53c temp with standard hsf

I also have a cranked up 550E in a p3v4x. I don't remember the exact fsb as it's in my kid's pc.

My cpu is a slot-1 and I'm using an Alpha p3125, with dual 60mm. fans. I used motherboard monitor and Asus' PC Probe to test the temps. The cpu usually idles ~2C above ambient and under full load stays in the mid-upper 30's.

This is a great slot-1 cooler, but blocks one DIMM slot. I secure it to the cpu brackets with tie wraps. If you're interested, I'll post more info on the cooler. Of course, disregard if you're using a slocket.

I've got a similar setup on a Soyo board with a 600E slot-1 running at 900.
