Change Microsoft accounts on a Win10 PC

I recently purchased a new system and would like to remove my Microsoft account from my old system and add my wife's account in its place, hopefully without any data loss, directory issues, etc.

Not looking to reset to factory settings or do a reinstall as any apps/games/etc that she's interested in are already installed.

Is this as simple as deleting my Microsoft account and adding a new one or are there some other recommended steps? Not even sure where to begin because this is something I've never had to do before. Thanks!

Do you want her to have her own user on PC or just swap the Microsoft account currently linked to PC?

login to your account here - https://account.microsoft.com/ and click on manage under the devices button. Your old PC should be listed here, To make sure its the old one you can click on Device info and support and it should show the specs. Once you sure its right PC, you can click on More actions and then remove PC. This will remove the PC from your user account, it doesn't as such remove it from PC though. This is more about activation of the licence.

It appears the only way to remove it from PC is to delete the user. This isn't really ideal, what I would do instead is add a new user to PC and leave your old user there as a backup...

That and removing your old user might also make it difficult for her to access the files she needs (deleting user may remove them all)

I don't know if that makes it an admin account or not. This shows how to swap from standard user to admin - https://www.windowscentral.com/how-change-user-account-type-windows-10 - user needs to be admin to stop PC asking for a password all the time and to let user access all files already on PC.
