This question has been asked before but my inquire is a bit different,

My os has been crashed and I'm trying to install new windows, when there is option to select a partition to install on it shows error saying that partition must gpt, only solution i see is to clean whole disk then change,

But is there option to change only partition that i want to install on

Thanks in advance

EDIT :it's win 7 , i already formatted the partition as i thought i would install new one without any issue

Solution

Or as I already said, find a disk that doesn't need the disk to be GPT.
You can even download the windows iso from microsoft and then use a tool like rufus to make it boot on mbr disks.
If you use the same disk to install the same windows you had before then it will not give you any error and it will install just fine.
Now it searches for GPT because it's a newer version of windows, one that is made for uefi bios, while what you had before was an older disk made for mbr bios.
