I am changing From ASrock H110M to a Asus ROG STRIX H270 Gaming motherboard and want to know because i have 2 hard drives connected to that motherboard; One with windows 10 and one with games and other files on it

I am going to uninstall windows 10 from the hard drive and reinstall with the new motherboard but I want to know will the D: drive be compatible with the new motherboard so i dont have to download all of the games on it

Thanks for the help 🙂

If you connect the second drive and dont format it, all the files will be there. However some games and apps shouldn't work because they store some settings and information in the registry and may need some files that are in the windows folder but are put there by the apps themselves. So, you can try, but be prepared to reinstall at least some of them.

thanks for the advice I am going to try what you said but i dont mind if i have to install some of the games

What you can try and I normally do is, for games that have a launcher, and that launcher does the download of the game itself is installing the launcher, copy the game files (that I have saved previously) to the game dir, and the launcher will only do the updates and that sort of things, avoiding downloading it all again.
