I have spent some time putting together my movie and I'm almost finished when
I realized that the end product needs to be a .avi file, NOT a wmv or wma
file.
Is there a way to make it save as an .avi? If not, can anyone suggest an
wmv to avi encoder?

If you are using Movie MAker then when you are saving the movie file to disc
you choose show more choices at the file type box adn pick dv-avi from the
drop down box.
