Cheap (base) gaming build

Looking to build a gaming desktop eventually. Right now I'd like a base build just to start off and I want to upgrade later when I have some more money.

I'm not looking for something that can max out games right now, just something to start off but can still run things decently.
Anything is going to be better than my laptop, so I don't really mind having to play on med-low settings on games. (currently have an acer aspire v3-551g-8454)

I have no experience in building so I don't know what I should buy and what is good and what's not. I would appreciate some cheaper builds, I don't really know how much I'd want to spend but maybe something like $500-600?

I've got a monitor, mouse, and Windows 8 already, so no need for that, just the tower.

If you plan to upgrade the graphics card in the future it would be better to get AMDRadeonHD's build since the processor is more powerful than the Athalon x4. If you do go for AMDRad's build try to swing an extra $10 into the motherboard to get the Asus M5A97 r2.0 (not the le version) since the non-le version is better for overclocking.
