I'm looking to buy a new cpu and along with that I'll need a new mb and ram i asked my friend for advice but all he did is confuse me we were talking about i3 8100 but the cheapest mb for it is 100€ atx and I dont really want to give that much for a mb then i thought what about i5 7400 but he said its shit and started talking about chipsets for 8100 and 8350k

Edit: Also what is the difference between these chipsets: z370/ b360/ h310?

The cheapest is a dual core Intel with hyperthreading. The downside is that game performance will suffer in games which require four actual cores.

The next cheapest is a four core, four thread CPU, like an Intel i3 8100 or Ryzen 3. This will be fine in all games EXCEPT games which can use more cores or threads. In games like that, a quad core might have framerate that is occasionally a little choppy and not stable.

The ideal would be either a 4 core/8 thread Ryzen 5 or an Intel 6 core/6 thread i5, like the i5 8400. This is probably out of your price range though.

You can't really save a lot of money on motherboards, they cost around a certain amount and that's that. You can save on ram by getting 8gb instead of 16gb, that's about it...
Honestly, if you're looking at ATX, you're probably going to be around $100 no matter what you do. If you do want to cut that cost, though, I'd go with a G4560. It's super optimized because of its overwhelming popularity, it's dirt cheap, and you can go all the way up to a 1060 without bottle-necking.

7400 (ok, 7500) and 8100 offer up almost exactly the same performance. They are 4 core, 4 thread processors with similar speeds.

The motherboard for the 8000 series (300 series) give you more options to upgrade in the future than do the motherboards for the 7000 series chips. If that matters to you. The newer motherboard for the 8000 series (and the 9000 coming soon) offer support for 6-8 core processors; the 7000 series (100/200) caps you to 6th/7th gen 4 core only processors.

I would suggest looking also at a Ryzen 2200/2400G build if this is to be an entry level gaming system unless you already have a decent graphics card. Those currently have the best integrated graphics you can get.

I have gtx 1050ti im cpu hunting my friend mentioned ryzen r3 1300
Could i ask you on what you would do in this matter whats the best and cheapest solution?

I'd try if at all possible to opt for the R5-1600 if possible, and at least a 1500 (with 4c/8t), so that when the GPU is replaced in the future, you are not hampered with 'thread envy'.. (4c/4t is staring to age quickly for many games, especially newer titles)

What you choose depends on which types of games you play, and what kind of framerate you can tolerate.
