You're not alone, but as said before many people would be totally fine with it, on top of that sometimes used hardware does come with a warranty. MSI for example warranty's the part, not the buyer so as long as the serial number is still within warranty, you would be fine to RMA it with MSI.

At a glance, typical warranties on GPUs are only two years, so most of these cards' warranties would have expired in storage even if they were all bought in 2019. However, the RX500 series launched in April 2017, so I'd suspect the bulk of the RX470s here were bought before that and the bulk of them are more like two years out of warranty.

Oh im not saying those are in warranty lol, those are waayyy out of warranty for likely one or more of multiple reasons, (time, place of origin, oem part, reseller, etc) I am saying it is definitely possible to buy used hardware that does have a warranty, though it isn't as common as finding parts out of warranty.

I would understand if this number crunching power would go to accomplish something useful for greater good. However... Can't cure stupid or greed.
