I purchased a Corsair 750 Watt power supply and 2 Radeon HD 4890 to run crossfirex on my Gateway 6800-01e I got one of the Radeon's cards to work just fine but everytime I put the other 4890 in the second slot, I boot up with no display on my monitor. I have got the cross fire bridge installed but still no display. Does anyone out there know what I need to do? The instructions only show a 3 card installation with two crossfire bridges. Does anyone think there is a problem with that? I tried going into the Bios and tried to find if my computer is configured for just one PCI video slot with no luck. I was told my chipset on my motherboard is compatible but now I am wondering if that is the issue.

Thanks,

Help?!!!?

Perhaps your second 4890 is faulty? Have you tried pulling out your first card, then installing the second card in its place? If you're worried about your PSU, the Corsair 750 should provide enough power, unless it itself is faulty (less likely IMO).

Hi.

The error means that installation failed because install shield cannot save files on program folder.
This often happens because of a failed installation.

I remaned the installshield folder. Usually the folder is c/programfiles(x86)/commonfiles/installshield. rename the folder to /installshield.bak or whatever you want and restart installation.

I did this and it worked. I paid $13.00 for this solution on FixYa.com. It is funny that I was on the phone with Microsoft for 4 hours and they could not come to any solution.

I would stongly suggest anyone go to FixYa.com if you are looking for any solution to your problem.

Thanks for your reply though. This ATI CrossFireX is awesome!

I appreciate your help and that solved my problem but now I have a new issue with my sound using my HDMI from DVI on my ATI Radeon 4850 to power my flat screen TV. I have tried everything to get sound and the drivers are installed ATI HDMI audio. I tested it and I see the graph activate but still no sound. My Gateway 6800 came with Realtech High Definition Audio. This works fine when plugged into my audio and USB port for my computer but I want my HDMI sound to work with my high def. TV. I tried to disable the Realtech on the control panel and it will disable just fine but my ATI HDMI audio still will not work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank-You,

Dan B.

DVI doesn't carry audio. If your 4850 have an HDMI out, then maybe and it might be only from an SPDIF output to the video card, but I dont have an ATI card. Others might have more info. But if you are using a DVI to HDMI cable to your TV, then that's your problem. If that HDMI port also have 2 RCA for audio paired with that input, then you can get a 3.5mm to 2 RCA from computer to your TV. Picture below is from a Samsung TV.
