I am very happy with this build but would like to spend less money on the gpu. I was thinking about a couple cards-
gtx 760
R9 280x

I would like to be able to run most games on 60+ fps on at least medium. Any suggestions?

my option is that gtx 760 and r9 280x are good choices for that ! i haven't checked GPU's for long so you better wait for other ppl to give their opinion!

i would get gtx 760 personally because amd it terrible at linux 🙁 and would get the gigabyte windforce 3x gtx 760

970 is preferable if you can afford it, 760 and 280 can't really compare in terms performance against a 970, and I haven't counted the new tech available to 970 yet (DX12 support, MFAA, etc).

an r9 280x is stronger than a gtx 760

a 280x can do ultra at 55-65fps usualy

970 will give you best performance out of the cards listed here. it is also the most expensive but if you can swing it, buying one will future proof you for a good year or so and thats playing games at high to ultra settings with high fps

Good build but i have a few questions.
I was getting more psu watts so i don't have to upgrade in the future but is 550 really enough?
And does that mother board have a lot of room for expansion?
And for storage i know ssd's are much faster than HDD's so i got a 120gb ssd for that purpose, is that not worth it or just something to add later?

550 is minimum recomended for that system.. if you upgrade to a higher end gpu like the 295x2 or other, then you will have to buy a new psu

ssd are good for c drives
my windows boot up in under 10sec

i doubt you ll need to upgrade this build soon . 550W is fair enough . This motherboard doesnt support SLI but is a great choice . it has great heatsinks . The only thing i would change is the case - to Corsair 200R . You can buy ssd later on .
