Space sims have been my favourite games since the early 90s and I've been complaining loudly for years that somebody needs to start making them again. The problem with this is that I really don't like MMOs. Sure they say you can play without any community interaction, but that has been said many times by other games and it never pans out. I also don't like that it sounds like that they're allowing you to buy in game currency with real world money.

All of that said, I may still give it a try simply because I love space sims so much. It just better not end up even remotely like Eve or Star Trek Online. Good graphics are great and everything, but I want real, lag free space combat, not the whole click on your enemy and press the fire button.

I hope they achieve their goal. If you guys would like to see this game become reality head to their website at robertsspaceindustries.com and give your support. If anything the tech demo shows they have big ambitions for this project.

I did as well. I can't wait to get my hands on my RSI Constellation myself. ^_^

Even tho this isn't coming out till 2014, I would love a space based MMO that let's your friends help you on your ship.

Taken from the webpage.

"On larger ships, friends can join you to man turrets, repair systems, or switch with you on the pilot’s chair. Think the Millennium Falcon with Han-Solo piloting and Luke on the turret."

Can't tell you how many times me and my friends love piloting ships together in mutiplayer games.
