You want me to buy and pay into kickstart ... drop this idea and work on FreeSpace 3 (or even WC 7 or X-wing 5).

Please please please ... I'll even buy the normal, deluxe and game of the year editions. Heck I'd even pay for in-game stuff.

I doubt he has the rights to those games, my guess is EA does and X-Wing would obviously be linked with Lucas Arts and would probably cost him 2 million just to be allowed to begin to make it the game. Never mind the development costs.

[citation][nom]nameon[/nom]No i wasnt hating on CCP, trust me i love EVE (i just cant get myself to invest so much time and money), i even doubt star citizen can match the fiction of eve.I was simply stating that it seems the guys at CCP (even though their ahead) have some competition, given what we know know know about star citizen.P.S - what exaclty do you mean by crafting system in eve, you mean buying ships, upgrading them at will, turning them to raw material, if so im sure star citizen will have something similar.[/citation]

True, I love competition, when done fairly.

And by what I mean by crafting system is from his comment about player design ships is doesn't seem to be a player controlled economy.

His comment was about them being sold on a some planets. I envisioned that as being a system like in Freelancer, were you buy ships from NPCs.

Not in EVE Online where nearly all ships are player made and bought from another player.

I still remember Privateer 2 start "MY gun my beautifull steltek (or smth like that) gun!"

Anyway, i welcome Chris Roberts's effort and i will try to donate something, although we are in crisis here in my country .

Don't forget one thing guys, developers prefer consoles because they don't have to pay loads of investment money to the DRM (game protection), unlike pc area where piracy forces them to do that..

On the subject of Crafting: There is little info about it yet. But if you look at the pledge packages, one thing sticks out in the top few tiers; your carrier will come with "5 ship blueprints". From that I think it is safe to assume some form of ship assembly will be included.

As for people complaining about MMO only gameplay... guess what? you never have to even see that aspect of the game. But unlike your beloved dedicated hermit games, you have the OPTION of going online to actually you know.. socialize, *if you want to*. It is laid out in 3 formats:
1) Single player (Like WC)
2) Multi-player and private / community servers (like Freelancer)
3) Persistent world MMO on game co's servers.

Somewhere in there is the ability to play co-op.

As for "pay to win" ... from what has been said on the site, your in game credits, earned through missions, trade runs, or discovering new jump points, will buy you the same things as some one flipping out a credit card can buy. IMO this is nice for people who have 3 jobs and 5 rug-rats running around bleeding you dry, but offers no advantage over the dude staying up 72 hours running a caffeine I.V. drip and wearing adult diapers.

I'd think people would be thrilled to support a game company with the goal of really putting your expensive hardware to use, with a deep game NOT PORTED FROM A DAMNED CONSOLE release.

One last note, you make a donation for a package, anything but the $10 one gets you the game. You don't pay for it again when it's entirely finished, you already have it. What you do get is early access to the game and a ship better than whatever standard one everyone else will start off with (because you helped make the game possible by contributing before it is finished).

Woops, forgot one more thing that I know just about everyone in Freelancer modding has been wanting for years: Some ships will allow multiple players aboard, manning turrets and such. Or you can have them hop into docked fighters for defense. That's pretty huge, for me anyways.
