Watching any kind of video in chrome causes consistent fps drops in most games I play, vsync on/off doesnt matter, windowed/borderless/fullscreen doesnt matter. I've uninstalled and reinstalled my gpu drivers multiple times, doesnt matter.
I tried firefox per a friend's recommendation and it runs smooth and causes no fps drops BUT some random amount time after firefox is opened, it will bring my comp to a complete stop, even if firefox has been closed for hours. I've tested enough to know its for sure firefox causing this and reinstalling it doesn't help.
I have a gaming laptop that has 0 issues with chrome video, so I know theres gotta be something else to try. Any ideas would be super helpful.
Edit - Hardware acceleration in chrome is off.
