Question Chrome constantly crashing to black after adding SSD

I added an SSD and I did a complete wipe and reinstall of Windows 10 and my hardware drivers. Afterwards, I installed Chrome, which by default goes on the SSD. Ever since, Chrome frequently crashes to black. I don't just mean the rendered page either. The entire Chrome window freezes for a moment, turns black for half a second, and then it comes back. It seems to happen especially when I try to scroll with the mouse wheel, and it is certainly from after installing the SSD.

I have tried reinstalling Chrome several times with no effect. I have not noticed the crash to black in any other program. What might be the cause, and how can I fix it?

I tried that right away after seeing it in several posts online. It had no effect, unfortunately. Also, I've never had that issue on this computer before I installed the SSD.
