Cinematronics game boards - testing?

Given that Cinematronics game boards don't have the required vector
DAC circuitry (it being within the monitor instead) is there a
recognised way of testing said boards by, presumably, making up some
kind of DAC board to act as a video interface between the boards and,
say, an XY oscilloscope?

Perhaps someone has already designed such a board (or even sells one)?

Maybe try finding a deflection board from one of the monitors and use that
as your digital to analog converter.Your only real problem with that would
be voltage requirements.

Umm, not to state the obvious, but why not just use a Cinematronics monitor?
They aren't *that* rare (or *that* bulky). I'll probably have some working ones
available for sale within the next 30 days...
