Yeah, it works great all over New England, including Boston, Worcester,
Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York. I
travel several states in the Northeast constantly. My Motorola T720 on
Cingular Nation GSM is always with me, and always ultra reliable. No
problems at all. I dumped Verizon for Cingular and couldn't be happier. In
all areas I've been, Cingular has equal coverage or better compared to
Verizon. Nextel on the other hand works great within the 128 belt, but
doesn't work AT ALL outside of that area. In case you are wondering, I
found Verizon to be great, as far as coverage goes. But they made some
outrageous billing errors (in their favor) that they admitted were THEIR
errors, but refused to correct them. As far as I'm concerned, Verizon
service is awesome. Too bad it's run by crooks. IMHO They even asked me
why I was leaving and when I told them it was because of their billing
errors, they had the nerve to try to argue with me, saying (and I quote)
"but all the other providers are worse". Ummm . . . no, Cingular hasn't
once screwed up my bill, and their service is better than yours, Verizon.
Having used cellular service on the road for several years now, I can tell
you that no single provider is going to be 100% reliable in all areas you
want to use it. What you need to do is find a provider that has good signal
quality at your home at least. Then if it offers good signal in most of the
areas you end up using it, you've found a winner. I think you could do
worse than to try Cingular . . . at least take them up on their free trial
period. -Dave
