The symbols must have something to do with it. I tried different
combinations of the numbers of sides on the shapes but couldn't get anything
to work.

I think I've broken it. I tried logging in, forgot my password, went to
the main site and clicked "our colony" (which for some reason took me to
the Aglami colony), then tried posting to the forum thing which gave me
an error message.
Altering a number in the url of that error lets me look at other
people's post and forums. I swear I did none of this on purpose, it all
happened by the clicking of random buttons, and I'd contact the site
manager if he had left an email somewhere findable.
Now, I suppose breaking the site to look at other people's boards
*could* be part of some cryptic puzzle, but I doubt it. And when a site
breaks this badly (and doesn't let me report it), I tend to lose interest.

I still don't get it though...

This thread looks interesting:

http://www.ourcolony.net/forum/messages.aspx?t=4

Taking either the number of sides or the number of angles in each
figure. Could be a phone number you have to call on a thursday, or
maybe an IP address?

Hmm, and you can create your own challenge:

That's possibly the "other way to play". There are points for
"Contributions".

Yeah, or maybe the images in the gallery? Or maybe they've just
recruited a LOT of people.

Uh... didn't you just admit to breaking it yourself? And it's not really
breaking it, just that they haven't put restrictions on who is able to view
posts, so you can get at them by changing the id number in the URL. It's a
mistake on their part, but is it really worth reporting? It could come in
handy if we're the only ones who know about it...

I broke it, yes, but I wasn't actually doing anything I wasn't supposed
to. I just gently prodded it, and it fell apart.
And I just don't like spying on other people. Call me crazy, but I think
this is exactly the kind of error that just shouldn't have been allowed
to slip through.
