Egypt is arguably one of the oldest empires in the world, so of course they have made an appearance in every civilization game to date. Due to this, Egypt is a true powerhouse in the early game, and can easily gain the upper hand and keep that lead through the late game.
Egypt's Leader
Leading Egypt is the always popular and famous Cleopatra. Her rule of Egypt may not have been long, but in the time she was in power she did cement ties with Rome and establish themselves as a powerful ally rather than just another nation to be conquered under Roman rule.Her special ability will give Egypt extra gold through trade with other civilizations, and when those civilizations establish trade routes with Egypt they will receive extra food, and Egypt will get extra gold from it as well. This makes Egypt a very powerful trading civilization, and one that other civilizations will look favorably towards as an ideal trade partner, since they'll get more out of the deal.
Egypt's special ability.
When playing as Egypt, you will have access to the Iteru ability. This will allow you to build both wonders and districts faster if they are being placed alongside rivers. Also, floodplains will not block you from placing either of these. This can be important in the early game where ever point of production matters, so the faster you can produce these early game wonders, the more of an edge you'll have on your enemies. Or allies.
Unique tile improvement
Egypt will have access to the unique tile improvement the sphinx. These improvements will provide you with faith and culture, and will provide even more if they are built next to a wonder. These can be great to help contend with more cultural or religious geared civilizations.
Unique Unit
Maryannu Chariot Archer's are Egypt's unique unit. They replace the heavy chariot unit and are a ranged unit that can be moved much quicker than any other ranged unit in the early game of Civilization 6. These guys have the same melee strength as the heavy chariot they replace, while having the added bonus of a strong ranged strength attack as well. This can give Egypt the edge with dealing with threats in the early game, but it will quickly become obsolete.
When playing as Egypt, it is important to establish good relations with your neighbors to promote trade, and focus on expanding and building as many early game wonders as you can, preferably beside a river, and then plop a sphinx down somewhere beside the wonders as well to really rack up the added benefits and use Egypt's special abilities to their fullest. With luck, your early game will be so strong that you'll be built up enough to stay competitive with the other civilizations far into the late game as well, long past when your civilization's unique bonuses have become obsolete.
