[SOLVED] Cleaning my monitor

I am attempting to clean my monitor as it has a dew smudges on it, i am doing the same thing i do every single time i clean my monitor which is getting a damp mircofibre cloth and going over the screen (When i say damp i mean it is hardly wet, im not stupid). For some reason it is leaving streaks which has never happned before and i have cleaned my monitor a lot. Can anyone help?

tried a different cloth? skin oils can accumulate on the cloth if not cleaned properly.
only use water unless the manual says you can use other things. eyeglasses cleaner is the safest bet* (only if water is no longer working) and you cannot find the manual online and simply must clean it and water alone is not working. it will not strip the coatings off the screen/glasses.


*stuff can happen, check first in the manual for approved cleaning solutions.

I've always used Windex and some paper towels, works fine for me.

If you washed the microfiber cloth with warm water or laundry detergent maybe that's why u get these smudges. try a new cloth
