I would recommend you having a look at Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB, which is our favourite 1TB HDD. Also I haven't heard of the PSU before researching it, it looks fine although. Other than that you'll have a decent build.

I believe it may be better to go with the z68 board instead of p67 for the 2500k. I cant remember why but i hope someone else will post after me to fill us in.

Its an all around better HDD ( you can check out the charts here but the one that seems to matter most to people is the avg read throughput which is here and you can get it at the same price as the barracuda if you order before tomorrow.

Z68 for SSD caching (since you have SSD, you'll benefit from this), using the IGP on Intel Core i5-2500K CPU in case your GPU fails and more future-proof.

That said, your current board is very expensive... I'd go with the new Asus P8Z68-V Pro or Deluxe... or is there a particular benefit to that board?

I also believe there're better options than GTX 580. AMD people, get over here and help Perhaps a 6970 or an unlocked 6950?

So why should I go with the Z68? I already have an SSD so why would I need caching?

EDIT: If Ivy Bridge is ever to support LGA 1155, there's a much higher chance that it'll happen on Z68 than on P67.

I plan on SLI(or crossfire, GPU isn't 100% decided on) and my PSU is not modular, how important is that? (it saves quite a bit of money)

If you want to save money, it's fine. It's just that the modular PSUs will allow you to remove unwanted cables, that's all. I think that if you will downgrade some unnecessarily expensive parts such as the ones described below, you might find enough $$ for a modular PSU.

Anyway, both your mobo and GPU are overkill... I'd get a P8P67 Pro or a P8Z68-V Pro (a better choice since you have an SSD), as I said, and Crossfire 6950s/SLI 560 Ti's, that's enough to shred any game nowadays @ 1080p. But if you have a lot of money, by all means, get a 580 or a 6970 and SLI/CF later...

Case: check out NZXT Phantom, costs a bit less, yet great cooling and looks better than any HAF cases.

I was considering getting the NZXT, but wasn't sure if it had as good cooling, is it good enough?

Also, I'm trying to get something at least slightly future proofed, I don't want to have to go out and buy another card in a short while
Anyway, Could I have some links to these motherboards?
