Hello ,today i bought a new video Club R9 380 4gb, i got a Gigabyte H61M-DS2 mother with i5 2400,my power supply it's old (almost 8 years) Antec EA-500D Earthwatts and my monitor is LG 25UM55 with a hdmi cable to video card.
I know my power supply it's not so great but at least should run in windows, i plug everything also the 2x6 pins power supply to the gpu but i don't receive signal,i get only black screen, the coolers on the gpu runs ,when i start the pc the coolers on the gpu start and then stop (1 or 2 second) then start to run normal -it's ok ?
I tried to disable intel hd from the cpu from bios but i can't find exactly where ,i found somthing in miscellaneous settings - peg x and it's on auto ,should i change gen 1 ,2 or 3 ? which one ?
If you got any other ideas please tell me,i don't have any friend where i can test this gpu.

Hello ! what else do you want to know ? i got also ddr 3@ 1333mhz ,my old video card it's ati 6570 (it run with this ) ,hdd seagate 7200 -250 gb ,power supply 500W -bronze
I read something that i need to update bios and change some settings in bios ,i really don't know what to do .

2 Problems I see here.
1. Your processor is going to be a major bottleneck in your system. It needs to be upgraded to take advantage of the R9 card.
2. The older a power supply gets, the less potential power it can produce. A 500 Watt PSU is going to be a minimum here, I'd recommend updating that to a newer one. Given an old enough supply, it could just quit on you with no warning and take out half the system in the process.

1)i don't think my cpu bottleneck just and R9 380 card ,maybe in some online cpu intesive games
2)i will change my psu in future but for now i just want to install my new gpu

Oops the processor I looked at was the i5 2400S, which is 2.5 GHz. Yours is fine, but I stand by the power problem. The R9 380 is a MAJOR power hog. I recommend at least 550 Watts on your power supply.
I know this because I got a R9 380 myself, and paired with the rest of my system my 600 Watt PSU didn't cut it.

come with an update , i tested today my gpu to a friend ,it works ,the system recognised the gpu and enter windows,i didn't have time for other test but should be fine, also i test my pc with his power supply but it was the same - no signal on monitor .I guess the motherboard it's not compatible or doesn't reognize the gpu. Please i need help.

I update bios from F7 to F 10a and now the video card it's working .
