Hello
How does the CMOS battery retain its charge when the system is powered off?and How can ensure it remains healthy? If it encounters an issue but goes unnoticed, what should do in that case as it is unremovable?

Thank You

It should not be unremoveable. If there is no battery then one assumes it's stored in NVRAM. Most motherboards still use a coin type battery that you can find on the board. I recently bought a new case and as I was moving the PC into it I went ahead and replaced the battery while I was doing it. It does require you to reset everything in the BIOS though, so take some notes before doing it if you have custom settings there. A battery should last 5 or so years.

Thank you , so it's possible to change battery ?Yes?but if it is removed what caution should be considered before? What setting will be removed/changed?

All your BIOS settings will return to factory defaults. So, if you've made changes, say you have your memory set to XMP, that will revert back to the default, slower settings. Certainly if you've done any overclocking etc all those settings will also revert to factory defaults.

If you haven't messed around in the BIOS, you'll be fine. If you have it will help to take notes before you replace the battery. When I set up the PC originally I had done quite a few things. I'm a big advocate of just turning off things that aren't used like the onboard audio and the CPU video that I wouldn't be using, things like that. There is possibly a way to save it all to a file on some computers, then import it back in once the battery is changed, but every brand and model is different so I can't really tell you how or where to find it if it even has that capability.
