Why are some motherboard manufacturers getting away from putting cmos reset jumpers on their board? It seems like an easy enough thing to do. My asus A7V-133 died last night, took out the battery, etc.. that's just a big pain in the butt. Anyone have the inside info on why they're being taken out?

The clear cmos is two small solder balls on the board instead of a jumper. Look in the manual to find them and then short the two together with the end of a flat head screwdriver or paperclip.

I aint signing nothing!!!

Probably to save production money, the CMOS clear jumper pins and shorting block probably wouldn't cost .10cents to put on each M/B but when multiplied by a million M/Bs it adds up to a chunk of money, that they save by not putting them on the M/Bs. Ryan
