I stay with known, recognized brands of batteries. And buy smaller packs (even if a bit more costly) to reduce shelf life problems. Proper battery storage also being important.
Known brands at least have some reputation to protect versus many "unknowns" battery brands that exist only to sell and profit.
Many cheap battteries do not last long and/or start to swell, leak, corrode.....
Likely such batteries come with "batteries included" products.
I generally replace those included batteries very quickly - if not immediately.
Unfortunately, even brand name batteries can be defective so I try to remember to constantly check the condition of any batteries. (Batteries in use and in storage.)
Especially if the host device is not being regularly used and thus requiring regular battery replacement.
