Question Coffee spilled through top of PC case, is it likely the motherboard is gone or the GPU?

So my son wanted to play Minecraft and moved my coffee to ON TOP OF MY PC!!! (I'm so mad) some coffee spilled into the system causing it to freeze, the mouse cursor wouldn't move and the pc wouldn't turn off using the power button so I turned it off at the socket. Left it to dry then tried turning it back on but it literally does nothing, press the power button and the PSU doesn't even fire up.

I've taken the system apart and dried up all the coffee I could but I can see where it's spilled and dried all over the motherboard, some also landed on the GPU, because it was orientated horizontally it pooled on it. It's a 2070super with a metal plate on the top and by the looks of it only a little bit got onto the PCB (like VERY LITTLE!)

Do you think both components are ruined or is it most likely to be just the motherboard?

Also if it is just the motherboard what would you recommend as a cheap but good replacement to fit an i5 9600kf and a 2070 super please?

Ooof hate to say it but most likely it's a goner.

As far as a replacement it depends on what chipset you were using previously using. Most likely B360 or Z390. Any board from a reputable brand like gigabyte or ASUS will do you fine.

It would be a good idea to wash the coffee off. Take the components apart and down to just the board and clean it completely, then let it dry and use a blower on it. For reference, check out TechYesCity on YouTube for the "tech yes lovin'" as Bry calls it.

Coffee contains oils that may or may not be conductive when dry.

I'll go and get some isopropyl alcohol today and give it a try, thanks.

The only issue is the pc was on when the coffee was spilled so I think something's probably fried already. Suppose it's worth a shot though
