Color glitches/artefacts when playing games in fullscreen mode

When playing certain games fullscreen, color artefacting is very visible in spots which are supposed to be bright in-game (near the sun, in reflections, explosions, etc). This makes games look very strange and nearly unplayable if faced with numerous explosions or reflections at once. The only way to solve this issue is to put games in widowed mode. Why would this be happening, and how could I potentially go about solving this and being able to play games fullscreen again?
(FYI: This happens most noticeably with Destiny 2 and Tom Clancy's: The Division)
