Hello guys, I recently bought a new desktop
Specs i5 8400
Gtx 1060 3 gb
Adata 8gb 2400mhz(single stick)
Gigabyte B360 mobo with 4 ram slots
500gb hdd 7200rpm
I would like to add another 4gb ram of the same speed and similar type (Adata), will this run in dual channel?
This is because, I have noticed while playing current gen games that is kinda using all my free ram (ie 6.5gb) and some games like WD2 is stuttering. And I think it's using page file which is a lot slower., and also if any games need more than 3gb vram at 1080p wouldn't it be better to make it use the additional ram than use the hdd.
So what do you guys think about this?
Will I benefit by adding another 4gb?

Any kind of help is appreciated

I'm not sure if a 4GB ram addition 'won't work" but I would advise to add another 8GB of the same speed and type. It is possible that this will help with stuttering but it may have more to do with your graphics settings and 3GB of vram then it does system memory.

Is there anyway to know this?.. The stuttering could likely be caused due to either ram /hdd, its bcoz I have tested it extensively, monitoring the cpu, gpu, vram usage and I can assure u that the current setting don't cross the 3gb limit at any time even the in game (wd2)vram bar doesn't reach 3g and cpu usage never reach 100% to cause bottleneck.
Back to OP - does anyone know why 4gb ram probably won't run dual channel even if every other parameter is the same as the other stick?, it's just hard to believe..
