Comcast Arris TG862 Fails when attached to NetGear JGS524E switch

After working together flawlessly for six months, the above switch knocks the router off line when it is connected. Only the router port connected to the switch fails. The other three ports and wi-fi continue to work.

The router has been replaced. The switch has been replaced. The router works fine with other switches. The switch works fine with other routers.

I can understand an incompatibility but why would it only occur after working fine for six months?

Computer hardware fails for no visible reason at times. Did you test different ports and cables? Does every port and every cable cause the issue with the two devices that don't work together?
