Comcast modem?????

ok talked to the comcast guy over the phone and he had a weird accent so i couldnt understand what he was saying he said if i get there phone and internet i could not run a standard modem he said i had to go to best buy and get a special onely one kind will work for comcast modem and he said it was like 150 if i didnt rent theres for 7 bucks a month.

now y wont a modem like this or this work i never ever trust what these guys tell me but where i got confused is he kept telling my what type this special modem is but i couldnt understand it with his accent.

My understanding was that they told you about these two modem would work.

hmmmm ok thanks it looks like a few of those where the models i linked only with an E at the end or a number change guess it really does make a difference but i bet there still cheaper than the one he said i needed for 150 bucks.
