Hello guys, I took the time to read posts and comments about this but since it's my very first time building a full RGB build with independant cooling system ( meaning my computer case didn't come preinstalled with fans like the previous computers I purchased ), I would like to have some support if possible.
I'll list my specs before so you guys know what I'm working with ;
- Mobo : Asus ROG Strix B650E-F
- CPU : AMD Ryzen 9 7950x3D
- Memory : G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 64GB (2x32)
- GPU : Asus ROG Strix 4080 SUPER OC
- PSU : Corsair RM850e 80+ Gold
- Storage : Samsung 980 Pro 2TB
Now for the specs concerned in my question ;
- AIO : Corsair iCUE H150i Elite LCD XT
- Fans : 9x Corsair AF120 RGB Elite
- Computer Case : Phanteks NV9
My question :
The Phanteks NV9 comes with pre-installed RGB strips here and there, and there seems to be a kind of RGB controller mounted in the back of the case (it looks similar to the Corsair Lighting Node Core), It comes with a connector which if I follow the instructions in the manual, should be plugged in the RGB header from my Motherboard.
The AIO comes with the Corsair Commander Core, which if I understand correctly, allows me to connect 6 fans (Power and RGB).
I have a total of 12 fans, 3x AF120 RGB Elite that came with the AIO, and an additional 9x AF120 RGB Elite that I purchased separately.
Now unless I read my motherboard's manual wrong, I only see 4x Fans Headers, which 1 of them should already be used by the Commander Core. That leaves me with 3x Fans Headers, for 9 fans.
I've looked at my options and I have found these ;

Which if I understand correctly, would allow me to connect 3x Fans into a single Fan Header? So I could potentially buy 3 of these splitters and connect my remaining 9 fans, which would use all 4 Fan Headers on my motherboard (1x Commander Core, 3x Splitters).
This seems to be the cheapest option and also the option with the most clutter as there will be a lot of cables everywhere, or at least it'll look less organised.
I was thinking maybe I could simply buy a standalone Commander Core, since it supports 6 fans, and I could have my 12 fans connected to my 2 Commander Cores, it would look better and it would also kinda feel easier to setup rather than using a combination of the Commander Core, Lighting Node Core and multiple splitter cables to power the fans.
I've seen conflicting reports of people saying they had no issues using 2x Commander Cores, some saying the 2nd one wouldn't be recognized, some saying the RGB syncronization would not work, I just want to know if, a couple years later, some people have an accurate answer.
ACTUAL QUESTION LOL : Can I buy a standalone Commande Core and use 2 Commander Cores to power and control my 12 Corsair AF120 RGB Elite fans (3 of them which comes with the AIO).
I have 0 knowledge on this issue and my computer has been half-built for 3 weeks now because I'm literally afraid of messing something up in the RGB or Fan controls, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
