Comparing 2 budget coolers for overclocking my new AM3

Hi guys,
I think I would be happy with the performance of either of these coolers, I just hoped there might be some experience out there with noise levels and performance at higher clocks to help me decide if one suits me better than the other. I believe the Coolermaster can fit an additional fan which could keep noise down by running slower fan speeds while moving the same amount of air, but I don't know if this works or if you simply hear two fans instead of one! Everyday noise and temps while overclocking are important to me. let me know what you think!
I will be using the PC for mid level gaming and surfing the net as well as muti-tasking during studies and watching movies. Here are the specs for my build.

Where did you see this? 24 over ambient is not very impressive.

TX3 full speed 56 decibels 22 over ambient. Hyper 212 17.9 over ambient at 45.9 decibels. 10 decibels and 3 degrees is a huge difference for a small $10 price.

The TX3 is down around #50 out of 100 reviewed at frostytech.

The coolermaster TX3 is only a 92mm cooler and will not handle heavy overclocking. Its big brother, the Hyper 212 plus is a high performing moderately quiet cooler that is very good for overclocking. The case is almost 8 inches wide so it should handle a 212.

The arctic is also just a 92mm and will not cool as much as a larger 120mm cooler.

Hi Thankyou for your response I appreciate your opinion but I would beg to differ. Both coolers were rated in the top 30 coolers of 2009 keeping maximum temps under 24C over ambient while under 100% CPU load. I do agree however that they will be much more noisy than a 120mm fan under heavy loads consistant with overclocking. They are the cheapest coolers for the job which is the difference between getting an aftermarket cooler or not. I have made up my mind to try at least one of them but I dont know if one is better than the other. At this stage I am leaning toward the TX3 but would like to hear if one or the other is better. Yeah, the CM 212 is very good, but I have the CM TX3 and works very good even in My country (Panama, very hot), I've been working with it in my overclocked Phenom II 720 @3.4GHz, I have it's fan running always at 50% and keeps my CPU Temp at 30C.

hi that is some nice advice. I have looked into the 212 and it is certainly a nice cooler for the price and I agree worth the extra £10 when I consider the temp and noise output. Thanks
