What does anyone know about the Gigabyte 8I848P and the 8IPE1000L
motherboards. I'm thinking of upgrading my GA-8PE667 from a Pentium IV 1.8
processor to a 3.0 processor, but I'm also thinking about keeping it like it
is (the GA-8PE667 with the 1.8) and instead buying a motherboard bundle
with a 3.0 processor and either the 8I848P or 8IPE1000L motherboards. Any
valid recommendations are greatly appreciated.

The I848P uses an 848 chipset, and 3 DIMM slots. It does not do well
with PC3200 at 200(DDR400) and is not a dual channel mobo. That's the
one I had right before this one, which is an GA8 IPE1000G. This 1000G
has 4 DIMM slots, IS dual channel, and is using the same PC3200+ ram at
200(DDR400) very nicely. The 1000G also has a gigabit LAN plus all the
other standard items like 2 SATA, 2 IDE, 8 USB2, and has 8 channel sound
onboard. I like the IPE1000G a lot. I'm also using a P4 3.0E/800/1m L2
on it, but it will accept CPU's with 400, 533 as well as 800 fsb. This
mobo is solid, I think I'll keep it!
