Hi, I am on a budget but I came up with the following two builds for my system. Please suggest me any improvements / if I could do better in the price range.

For $700, we can do much better. Not to mention, both power supplies on those builds are very bad. And you should never choose an 8- motherboard with a Haswell CPU; the board will bottleneck the CPU.

Thanks for your reply. I was actually a bit skeptical about Radeons. Would you consider EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB Super SC ACX 2.0+ ($240 on Amazon)better than Radeon R9 290? My purpose includes mainly video processing / rendering and gaming.

Well I was just looking up comparisons on Youtube and although considering a single game (GTA 5 in this case) and making a judgement is not the best thing to do but still it seemed like 960 gave a better performance overall.

The performance benchmarks dont lie, and one game isnt going to change those 45%.
