Hi everyone,

Below is two towers that I'm looking at buying for my wife. They're a bit higher performance than what she needs (e.g., internet/social media surfing, Sims games), but figured I'd ask to see if anyone knows of any glaring problems with either one of these systems, before I choose one. There is a large price difference, so if the HP doesn't have too many problems, I'd be more inclined to get it. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Ouch! Wow, it is simply astounding what the GPU craze has done to the market.

Do you have any experience building? Or even interest in learning?

In this situation I would be considering building out a system around a 5700G. Unless I am way misinformed (which is possible) you shouldn't need a 2070 or 3060 to run Sims games. That HP system is coming up on 4 generations old and WELL overpriced for a refurb. The other is an unfortunate side of this GPU thing.

You could readily build something under 1K based on a 5700G, name brand quality open source components, 16+GB of RAM, AND your OS.....

:)
If all she does is Sims games, the rig with the 2070 will be fine. Why pay more, when it will be wasted.

Ha she's really wanting something that looks more like the Asus with the see-through covered side and the ability to do different colors, but I'm thinking she won't notice too much difference with the HP....especially since it's a surprise in the first place ha. Thanks for the input for sure.
