I'm upgrading my my computer both GPU and Memory wise and I need help/confirmation that the type of RAM that I have and the type that i'm looking at getting will be compatible. I currently a Gigabyte H55M-UD2H Motherboard with a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz. and 4GB of Kingston ValueRAM 2 GB DIMM 1333 MHz DDR3 Memory.

Basically what I'm wondering is if i could buy (2x2gb)G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 and install them in my system without any problems. Advice is welcome!

Of course - it MIGHT work, chances are very good with 1333 DRAM, especially if same timings and voltage....is there a guarantee...No. Actually it's never a good idea to buy with the intent of mixing sticks (though not bad if from a store) if on-line and they don't work may face shipping charges and restocking fees.....if they won't work under auto (and possibly at worse timings) you may face some playing with voltages and getting some one to help......I've had numerous calls from folks doing this and call to ask me about it, as mentioned yes they can generally be made to work if they don't from the get go, but if your time is worth money or you call someone in the price of the cheap upgrade may well double or even be higher -- and...

Yes and no :$ The thought of having 2 4GB sticks is tempting but I'm cheap and right now I only tink i need 8gb of RAM 😀

Hehe, budget-bound, I see. :) Just go with it. :wahoo: It'll work without any hiccups. 😉

So basically... I could workout but there is always a chance that it might not workout and I'd be paying more for help if I can't figure it out myself. Thanks 😀 I guess i'll go with the 2x4GB packs! Now here is where my second question comes in.. Which one is better quality/performance wise as there is a price and brand difference:
