Question Compatible CPU for Intel DH61CR motherboard ?

I3, i5, i7 and i9 doesn't matter. You want to look out for the numbers. 2nd gen motherboards = 2000 cpus... My motherboard is 9th gen which means i can use 8th gen cpus and 9th gen cpus. So i can use, for example i3 9100f, i5 9600k, i9 9900k.

Intel has discontinued support for old boards like yours.
They do not provide BIOS downloads anymore.

But you may be able to get updated BIOS versions from other sources.

It was my first time doing this upgrade, and I don't know if i7 2700K is compatible with my BIOS and motherboard for example. Sorry.

The most current version available for this DH61CR-BR motherboard is the one I'm using right now (0120).

no comment on the 2700k. I simply made a comment on what I think would work, because using a 2600k on my backup pc. And I have a 2500k as a spare, which also works. I did not even need to touch the bios, simply installed the 2600k, and it's smooth sailing from there. Has been working fine for years now, no issues.

most of the issues I've seen are people trying to upgrade to 3770,

According to CPU-Upgrade, your board should accept the i7-3770 as long as it has BIOS 42 or later.
