Approximate Purchase Date: Any time, no rush

Budget Range: £2,000-£2,500 GBP

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Games, watching movies, internet

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Parts to Upgrade: Complete system

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Whatever is legit

Location: England, UK

Parts Preferences: Asus or whatever is known as good for that part

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 2560x1440

Additional Comments: Good cooling, not fussed about noise really, don't care for RGB.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Currently on a 2016 build running 6700k & 1070 gtx

Parts:
Case: Fractal Design Define 7 XL (picked as couldn't find regular size with glass window)
Mobo: ASUS TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D
CPU cooler: Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX XT - 360mm Liquid Cooler (picked as not many options on the scan 3xs prebuild)
Ram (DDR5): 32GB (2x16GB) Corsair Dominator Titanium RGB 6000MHz (Heard 6000mhz is better for this cpu than 5600mhz)
GFX card: 12GB ASUS GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER DUAL OC, 7168 Cores, 2550MHz Boost, GDDR6X
GFX card bracket - ASUS ROG Herculx, Aura Sync ARGB, 72-128mm Adjustment, Magnetic Spirit Level (Heavy card bend is a thing?)
PSU: Corsair RM750e, Modular, Silent, 80PLUS GOLD
M2 HDD: 1TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe PCIe 4.0, 7000MB/s Read, 5000MB/s Write (Was gonna get another ssd after but not sure if I should get another M2 or the 870 series)
Fans: 120mm Noctua NF-A12X25 Chromax Black (x3) (case comes with 3, AIO would have 2 or 3, was thinking to do 1 on back as exhaust, 2 in front intake, 3 in the bottom intake & the aio as exhaust on the roof. Is it better to have aio on roof as exhaust or front as intake & do you want more air going into the case or being removed, negative pressure or something?)
OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 64-Bit
Monitor: 27" ASUS TUF VG27AQ, IPS, 2560x1440, 165Hz, G-Sync Compatible (currently using an aoc g2460pg 24inch TN panel type)

https://www.scan.co.uk/3xs/shared/c...gshare&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=copypaste - prebuild
Comes to about £2,600 on the above site.
Got a link here as well - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/P7zZyg (fixed)

Anyway, any of those options overkill, bottlenecking or just unnecessary?

I would say almost all of this is overkill for gaming. If anything, the GPU is underspecced.

7900X3D is an odd choice for gaming. 7800X3D will get the job done and it doesn't have the complication of multiple CPU chiplets, one with 3D vcache and one without.

Motherboard is reasonable.

I don't see the point in paying the premium for dominator memory. Plenty of the CL30 6000 kits around for less.

4070 Super is a fine mid-range choice, but room in this budget for far more.

RM750e is on the cheaper end of ATX3.0 PSU.

We can find a better monitor for the money, though again a decent budget pick.

Your partpickerlink has a lot of differences, and two memory kits for some reason.

Still a little room, maybe look at a 240hz 1440p display, or get yourself a nice mouse/keyboard/headset.

Just noticed the with heatsink Samsung Drive, switch that out for the regular one. The motherboard has a heatsink.

I would stick with the 7800x3d. It is actually better for gaming, than the 7900x3d. I would choose a case with better airflow, like the pop air XL. Hopefully this link works, but I made some changes and managed a faster GPU.

Building your own would get you a faster system, for less money.

P.S.: cuz you are upgrading and you have the old pc, might as well wait for the Nvidia 5000 series and AMD 9000 series by Christmas time.
