Hello, new here and to the whole concept of building a PC. I've been looking around at some different guides to building and though I've gotten a good understanding of what a PC needs to run decently, I haven't found much in the way of what would work best for what I need/want and am willing to spend. So, as far as what I'd like my PC to be able to do goes, I've made a list:

1. Play movies/music on and off of the internet.
2. Lots of pictures and video editing/sharing.
3. Play games, but not extremely heavily. My husband likes to play WoW, and on our current computer we can't. There's a few other games we'd like to get, but none that require much more than WoW does.
4. I'd like it to last at least 3-4 years without needing much in the way of upgrades.

I'm working off of a DELL Dimension 4500 Pentium 4 ( ) that was handed down to me by my parents 4 years ago. At that time it was already 2 years old. I hate this thing and know that it wouldn't take much to improve upon this. About all it is good for is looking around on the internet, and even that is limited. ( )

My budget before a Monitor, mouse, keyboard, and speakers is $650 to $700. All opinions, help, and suggestions are welcome!

For ur use this system will easily last u 3 to 4 years like u wanted...

And as for the OS, going for vista now is not a good option as the new OS from microsoft Windows 7 will be releasing later tis year...So wat u can do is to use ur old OS till the Windows 7 comes out...
