Compression artifacts in games and apps

Solution
Are you talking about color banding? That may be worse or better depending on your monitor and color profile settings.

It is not an actual computer issue as such.

Some games will have it on almost any monitor. The colors are not reproduced close enough so you see the difference instead of a smooth transition.

More often compression artifacts show as blocks.

Solution
I found the solution

So apparently my laptop has a max refresh of 100hz and was set to 75hz so I went into the nvidia control panel created a custom resolution and manually set the refresh to 100hz and that seems to have fixed the issue along with a bit of color correction!

Good to hear you got it fixed. Since your screenshots did not seem to show the issue you would have to take a picture next time. It is the same as capturing a screenshot of your computer does not show the color profile(if it did the profile would be applied 2 times when you viewed it on the same computer.).
