Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this or anything, but I've been having some weird issues with my computer recently. So, my computer has been fine for like a year, built it myself, and suddenly I'm having several weird issues, and I don't know if they are even related, so I'll just split them in two, just in case.

The first issue, while playing games, my display drivers will occasionally crash. It's not overheating, I have a CPU checker and EVGA Precision to check, those are fine. It's after a random amount of time, and very inconsistent. My drivers are updated so I know it's not that, unless it's not even display driver related somehow.

My second issue is more recent, and even more worrying. One by one, program on my computer will start freezing up. For example, my chrome will stop responding, and it'll get a grey box around it and refuse to do anything. Other things will work, but I can't close chrome or restart it. If I try to open task manger to stop it, it won't open, or if it does, IT'LL freeze in place too. Other programs will continue to work for a bit longer (Skype/Discord/Steam/Anti-Virus), but slowly, one by one, those will go too. Sometimes it'll take my internet out first, like chrome will work, but nothing will load. and I know it's not actually my internet because I can connect on my laptop and phone, and not soon after my other programs go too. I have samsung magician on here, and thought it was a SSD problem, but it reports okay. Is it possible it might be my SSD anyways?

I'm pretty sure that's all the info on it, but if not, I'll add more information if I can think of it. Thanks in advance for any help!

Alright, if you have any error codes that it spits at you or any dump files you should post those here. Also if you could give me a full list of your parts, as detailed as possible, that could get us started.

Also, while it could be an issue with the SSD its most likely that this is a software issue. it occurs in stages over a period of time, which is unlike most hardware problems. Most hardware related issues i have had have been immediate and blatant. I just want to know what hardware we are talking about in case something jumps out at me as weird.

Nope, no error codes sadly, I just have to reset after it dies on me.

Specs:
Running on Windows 7 Ultimate
Mobo: MSI-7821
GPU: EVGA GTX 970 Overclocked
Proc: Intel i7-4790k @ 4.00GHz 8CPUs
Ram: 16 Gigs G.SKILL Sniper Series
SSD:Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB
HDD: WD3200BEVT

If you need anything else I'd be happy to add it. As of the moment, it's only an annoyance, but I feel it'll be a bigger problem later. It doesn't even always do it. Sometimes I can go a whole day without the issue.

(Also, not sure if it's relevant at all, but it's been a short while since I've cleaned the inside of this computer, though I get a feeling that wouldn't cause these problems. Regardless, it's due for a cleaning)

Alright, if i had to guess right off the bat, i would point blame at the overclock on your 970. Assuming its a personal overclock and not a factory one, that could cause this. I saw the exact same occurrences when I overclocked my R9 390 too far and my 6700k. try backing that overclock down or ridding it all together.

My next question was going to be what are your temperatures like? Thermal shutdowns will usually give you a warning and an error code, but if something isn't working right they may have not.

btw, you have an excellent loud out of parts. I would be hard pressed to believe that any of them are to blame. What do you run in the background? anything like aferburner or XTU?

Sadly, I wish it were a personal overclock, but it is indeed a factory overclock. My GPU I'd say gets to around 55C tops, usually hovers at 48-50c (While in game). And on low usage I'm getting around 30-35c. As for my CPU, I'm at around 20-30 C on low usage, and at most, 60c while in game, or program extensive. So I don't think overheating is the issue, though I wish it was, since that is an easy fix.

That's why this is such a bizzare issue for me, nothing seems to be popping up as an obvious issue, or even a slight problem, that's why I'm concerned about all of this.

Background programs? Not much, I can list what is pretty must always running on my computer.

These are always open while I'm running.
Chrome, Steam, Discord, MSE, CoreTemp, DS4 (PS4 Controller Support), Samsung Magician, Killer Network Messenger (I wish I could turn this one off and uninstall it without destroying my internet connection), puush, Sound Blaster Cinema.

These are either usually on, or on when I need them.
Any game, honestly, Malware-bytes, Firefox, Skype.

Sorry for the exhaustive list, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I don't THINK any of these programs would be to blame, since I've always been using them, but who knows? Looking for any answer at this point. Thanks again.

Newer problem to add to this list. Sometimes when I boot up my computer, and leave it sit before doing anything, it'll be working, but as soon as I try to start a program, then it'll soft freeze, and I can't do anything, and must restart.
