Hi to all!
Approximate Purchase Date: between now and two weeks.
Budget Range: 3,000 - 3,500
System Usage from Most to Least Important: This will be a gaming computer. I will use the browser to watch video's online but that's about it.
Parts I already own:
Currently I own a computer that I will be taking apart to use a few required parts for my new build.
TX750 corsair power supply
Sata hard drive
optical drive
computer fans
G5 gaming mouse
razor tarantula keyboard
windows 7
Parts Preferences:
I have put together a list of parts as a starting point but I hope to get all the advice and help i can get because I am not sure if it is a good build or not. *** Anyone is welcome on suggesting a new build or parts you think would be a better fit for the money. Much appreciated ***
cpu cooler: Noctua NH-D14
processor: 17 2600k 3.4GHz
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z68-V PRO "not sure yet between p67 or z68"
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB)
graphics card: evga classified 590
computer screen: LG 24" HD 1080p LED 2ms glossy
Speakers: Logitech Z623
computer case: Cooler Master HAF X "I have no idea though, something that will last for the future"
OCZ RevoDrive 3 series RVD3-FHPX4-240G PCI-E 240GB PCI-Express 2.0 x4 MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
I plan to use two hard drives, the old SATA drive "1 year old" and the new RevoDrive that I will buy. I was thinking I would put my OS/games on the revodrive SSD so it would load fast and put my pictures and documents on the older SATA hard drive. "not sure need advice"
I don't even know if it is necessary to have a fast hard drive for gaming and if it really helps. Do you think just keeping the SATA drive I have now and not buying a new SSD would be fine?
I figured I would use some of the fans in my older computer to put in the HAF X computer case. Probably bottom of the case where you have the option to put in extra hard drives or fans.
I checked to make sure my older power supply would be enough for my graphics etc etc and it seems to be, but I sill don't know if I should use it. any advice?
I don't have any type of bias when it comes to picking between AMD or intel I just want what you all think is best. From the parts I have already picked I guess its looking like an Intel computer. That can change if I see good suggestions.
Preferred Website for Parts: newegg.com
Country of Origin: (Canada, Ontario)
Overclocking: No
SLI or Crossfire: Depending on the build, to start off this build I want one very good graphics card and just buy another one a bit later.
Monitor Resolution: I have no idea but I want my screen to be 24" I usually run 1400 x 900. Only because that's the max resolution I am offered.
Additional Comments: This is strictly a gaming computer and I could use some advice about what is the important and whats not. I don't know much about parts only from my own findings.
Regards,
