Computer constantly having the same problem with turning off

Hey guys,

I've been having the same exact problem with my computer for a while now. While carrying out tasks on my computer or playing games, my screen will randomly go black and then begin searching for an input. All my peripherals will also turn off, however the computer itself is still running. The only way for me to fix this issue is to switch the computer off via the switch on the back. Although my screen is connected via a HDMI cable, while searching for it, cannot find it and then will turn off.

Any idea's guys?

Sounds like a loose cable, or bad connection somewhere.
Try removing and re-plugging in the cable.
Try a new cable.
See if you can use a DVI plug instead


what do you mean "All my peripherals will also turn off" does your keyboard, mouse and speakers also turn off? ... meaning no lights? Are they connected to the monitor somehow?

Ive already checked loose cables but it always turns off at the same exact points as well so i know it cant be something to do with wires. Everything else turns off except my computer itself, the peripherals are all connected to the computer though.
