I built this computer 3 weeks ago and no problems but three days ago it started freezing taskbar icons, videos, and their audio. But it still lets me use my mouse but doesn't let me open new applications or if it does they show up as blank. It does this infrequently two days ago it only did it twice but yesterday it felt like every thirty minutes.

I think it is my graphics card but not sure it just a place holder till better cards are in stock.

It works perfectly fine for a while then if I have a video playing in the background it suddenly stops and doesn't let me unpause it again until I completely turn it off.
Yesterday I opened it up and cleaned everything and it still happens but weirdly yesterday after I turned it back on around 8 and kept watching videos and doing homework it didn't freeze up again. I am relatively new to computers and don't know how to fix it.

Is GeForce experience where you check if gpu drivers are updated or should I download the one on the Nvidia website. And windows is fully updated. I also downloaded the feature or optional update a week or so ago should I have downloaded it or only download the mandatory ones?

Yes use Geforce Experience to update your drivers. Mine is setup to automatically notify me everytime there is a new update ready to download.

Also, make sure your Windows is up to date. That would more likely be the issue than the gpu driver.

In fact, go to the search bar in bottom left, type in System Info, click it, and tell us what version of Windows you have.

(sorry didnt see you already updated windows, but itd still be nice to double check your version for us to be sure)
