Computer freezing whenever I download large files!

Hello,

Whenever I am trying to download large files, such as the game patches for Blacklight Retribution and War Thunder, my computer will just freeze after a few minutes of downloading. My screen will just stay the same, I cannot move my cursor and nothing on my keyboard does anything. I left it once for like half an hour or so to see if it unfreezed, but it didn't. I'm not quite sure what the problem is! I do only have like 20GB left on my HD, could that be it?

Specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate
AMD Athlon 64 X2
AMD Radeon HD 6450
2GB DDR2 RAM
250GB HD ( C: ) + 750GB HD ( D: )

I don't think I need to mention anything else, tell me if there's anything else you'd like to know.

The freezing happens when the HDD has too much information already contained in it, and adding more will make it freeze even more.

Perform disk clean up, delete unnecessary files or programs.
This will give your pc a boost, believe it or not if you take care of your pc your pc will continue to work like new.
