i’ve tried two different hard drives and two different windows 10 discs brand new on an older computer with no windows installed. it’s a bit older and had a corrupt hard drive before and now i can’t install a new windows on to a new hard drive with this computer. i don’t know why it won’t work, because it says to insert media and press any key but when i do that and put the disc in and it spins for a few seconds and then the light flashes on the disc tray and it stops spinning and says to insert media again. keep in mind i’ve tried two different windows discs and two hard drives so idk what’s wrong, i’ve made sure that the disc tray is boot priority and then hard drive second. i’ve tried the other way around and it still didn’t work. can someone help me figure this out so that i can get my windows installed, i’m not sure why it’s not working because i have also tested it on my newer computer with no luck and have tried different cables. is there a setting in bios i need to change for the hard drive to be detected or able to be used with my windows disc? i noticed it doesn’t actually get detected on my new computer but it does on my old or maybe i’m just confused. i just need help, anything is appreciated, thanks.

9 years... i think i see problem, its likely the win 10 installer doesn't have drivers for your motherboards chipset. Intel/AMD stopped supporting them a few years ago and the win 10 installer has no idea what its running on.

Do you have a win 7 installer? The win 7 installer should install. I assume you upgraded to win 10 from 7? Do you have the old licence key? If so, it should still work. when you upgrade to win 10 it just gave you a licence you can use on 7 or 10.

You can get a copy of the win 7 ISO here - https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows7

I would install Win 7 and then if you want to use win 10, upgrade it using the DVD instead of fresh installing as it should work better.
@colif this pc is older like 9 years old and i built it back in the day so it’s custom. i have tried using a usb to install forgot to mention that it. it just doesn’t detect the hard drive that way, because nothing happens.
