Computer is making grinding noise when running a particular app

I tried playing a movie online and later playing music on my itunes and grooveshark and in all instances my computer started making a grinding noise and it stopped working, not even my mousepad would move...what do I do?

Check to see if any leads or wires inside the case aren't touching the fans, Mainly cpu fan or gpu fan

Oh ok...because I asked some people at Best Buy and they said it could be the hardrive
