So my computer started restarting in a loop, first I was able to get into windows for around 10-15 minutes just to have it restarting again and now it just restarts whenever i boot it up, can be after 5 seconds after 10 or 15 but I never reach windows anymore.

I have replaced my motherboard with a new one, I have replaced my PSU, I tried switching the RAM sticks, taking out the battery, apply new thermal paste to CPU, cleaning dust, and problem still persists.

what else can it be? is the CPU dead? or can it actually be the SSD?

Solution

Seems like you found your problem, just rma the ssd. Could maybe that the bootsector alone was corrupted and you could try a complete format and reinstall of windows, but if it just won't start with the ssd rma it.

as i mentioned, the computer restarts after a few seconds. even if i try I wont be able to reach the format screen

oh right how could i forget the most important thing...

here you go, hope this helps you to help me :)

Motherboard : MS 7788 h61 p20 ( was just replaced after problem started but nothing )
CPU i5 2500 3.3ghz ( I got it with the computer, 5 years ago )
ram x2 4gb vegenance 1600mhz ( they are pretty new, maybe a year or so but i really dobut this is the problem )
psu chieftec 650W ( also tried an ATX 500W that i got free and same problem with restarting [ I know its one of the worst PSU out there but since it kept restarting i believe its not the PSU or correct me if im wrong] )

Thanks!!

Since i don't know what 500watt psu you used as well could it still be the issue if crap as well.

Could just rebuild the pc and see if solves anything.

From what i read you even can't start from a bootable disk or usb stick? Actually tried that?

I thought about heat issues, but you've put new paste on the cpu so if done right should that give no problems as well.

I see and just for information, if the CPU is dead, the PC shouldn't even turn on at all right?
also I have replaced my SSD with my old HDD and it seems to work for now, I left it open for 2 days and no restarts or anything. could the SSD actually be dead? or is it just luck ( the sdd is just 9 months old 🙁 )
