So even for an IT pro in which I did almost everything to try and counteract this issue my PC keeps turing on by itself, it baffles me and I have looked everywhere and done everything, from the BIOS update to disabling all my devices that can wake the pc and disabling all scheduled maintenance, all unknown wake sources :0 I have built many PC's before but this is my personal rig and I just don't get it, even disabled my cpu c6 and c7 states as they are not supported and it still turns on. Its not even happening at one time anytime in the afternoon or night...

Here is a link to my build and if its a hardware issue I really am not sure where to look first as most of my parts are in good shape and I've only had this PC for four months.

Here is a link to the build: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/b/cjVYcf

HELP ME!

Solution
As a professional in the industry for 25 years, I would say we're down to two possibilities:
1) ghosts
2) something triggering the wake function.

1) For ghosts, I would suggest lighting candles in the room, next to something to trap them, some say a bowl of water. When the candles have finished burning, toss the water into the toilet or ocean. violent ghosts will cause candle wax splatter. dispose of this wax.

2) For wake function. Try leaving everything unplugged i.e. mouse, keyboard, network cable. If it still happens, check your earth wires and make sure the case is earthed. Failing that, go back to step 1.

No but will begin to look into the hardware side and earthing issues, could be a ghost though because even my iPad screens turns on by itself sometimes but only when its close to the pc.

Sorry for the late reply, was trying to reply yesterday but I was consistently blocked by some weird storm path io redirect, well looking at the hardware yesterday there does not seem to be any earthing issues but I did pick up all electricity cables of the carpet to avoid any static discharge that could somehow turn the PC on. Anyway the PC does not turn back on straight away only after quite some usually a day or two later sometimes up to three days at a random time. It used to turn on as soon as I turned it off but it somehow stopped doing that... I even checked the power switch connection which was connected correctly and the psu leads towards mobo ground pins, all was set, didn't do anything wrong when I built it.

Thank You,

well, speaking on a totally physical level, there are only a few things that can turn the pc on:
1) wake features e.g. wake-on-lan or alarm. but you said you turned them all off. check the bios again and power settings.
2) a fault on the motherboard or psu - very uncommon but possible
3) a short or static build up. check for dust near the connectors and even inside the power switch. connectors being too close to case or other conductors.
4) High magnetic field causing induction. You said it happens on iPad too, so this is the most likely cause. Does it happen when a microwave oven is used, are you near a cell tower or wifi hotspot? All these things can interfere. Do you often get headaches?
It shouldn't really happen inside a pc case though, the metal case acts as a faraday cage, although modern cases are not fully metal and often have big windows and gaps where signal can penetrate.

Hmm, I checked the BIOS again, checked for shorts near the mobo and will check the power switch inside but so far it looks good, I wonder... Hopefully it stays off after this.

Okay so it turned on again just now wtf... Nothing looks wrong I have checked grounding issues the lot what should I do. Here is what the Event Viewer Says.

This is a pain

"The system has returned from a low power state."
Maybe your PC is just suspending rather than turning off. Make sure all your power options (e.g. action when power button is pushed) are set to power off and not suspend.

And try disable any power feature that suspends CPUs when they are idle.

Hmm, yes I already did turn off the C6 and C7 things not supported by my PSU in the bios for the cpu idle states, but I am clicking shut down from the win 10 power button on windows, not hibernate. Will check it out tho.

Hey buddy so after checking the power options and advanced power settings it said that my power button action was to sleep but wouldn't that be the physical power button on my case and not the windows one as clicking the power button makes the sleep light flash while shutting down from windows does not give any light but when it turns on as we said it says low power state which should not be true.

Solution

Thanks for getting back to me for step one I won't bother doing it because I will be moving to a fresh new house in a week and a half but the ghost story may actually be true as my Grandma unfortunately passed in my house and maybe wanted to play BF4.

For Step 2 will give it a shot at the new house to check.

Appreciate everyones input so far and will pick a solution upon moving and seeing if it works.

Just for an update have only tested a few things from what you guys listed, however upon moving houses and disabling the rtc alarm option in the BIOS the computer has not turned on by itself since! Or it could have been the ghost which has stopped haunting my beloved PC... I loved my Grandma anyway and she did to so yeah, I think she just wanted to play BF4 but didn't know the passcode 😀
