Computer lags then freezes

I built my pc last year, and about a month ago once a day my computer lags, then freezes. Usually happens when im in a game, occasionally happens when i am just browsing online. Checked my temps all are around 35-40C 28-30C idle.

anyone have any suggestions on what i should do? Has anyone ever experienced this before

Does anything else happen? Does it go BSOD? Do you have to hard boot the system to get it going again?

I had this happen and it was my HDD going down hill. It would make funny sounds, lag, freeze then come back on. It would start all over again in about an hour.

No BSOD, also my OS is installed to an SSD the only thing that happens as stated before was that it lags, then a couple of seconds later it freezes. I do a hard reset from the tower

I would start by checking the stuff you can check easy. Start by making sure all drivers are updated, windows updates.

I would also check temps of the CPU and the GPU.

You could setup a 2nd partition and reinstall windows on the 2nd partition just to check if its something to do with windows.
