So I just built a new computer for Christmas 2016, everything in it is new except for the optical drive, PSU, hard drive and wireless adapter that I ripped from my old computer.
The issue: the power button turns it on, but the monitor, keyboard and mouse don't light up AND the power button only turns off the computer if I hold it down for a few seconds. The computer was working fine for two weeks until yesterday when I installed a new 8gb ram stick, since then it's been having the issue I mentioned. I already had a 8gb stick into the A1 slot (although the MoBo manual recommends the A2 slot if you have just one stick) so when I got the new stick I stuck it into the B1 slot. (MoBo manual recommends A2 AND B2 slots with just two sticks though.) I've tried switching the sticks into every different combination possible, and the computer doesn't even work with 1 stick now.. No matter if its the new or the old stick.. Even though it did before..
Specs: 1080 GTX GPU
8 core AMD fx 8350 CPU
970 pro gaming aura MOTHERBOARD
Thermal take 600w PSU (3 years old) 1 TB hard drive (also 3 years old)
2 8gb crucial Ballistix sport RAM sticks
Its a new motherboard so I don't see any dust in the ram slots, I didn't press hard into the slots with the ram, they fit easily, AND I've tried with a friend's RAM sticks and they didn't fix the issue so I highly doubt the issue is the ram sticks, both of the ram sticks are new. I have really no idea why this issue is happening.. I'd like to get this fixed as soon as possible if anyone can help please.
